Wollert Community Housing

Blending simplicity, texture, and community choice in a vibrant social housing project

This project stood out — not just because it was for affordable housing, but because it asked for something a little different.

We were tasked with bringing simplicity and warmth together, using a wide mix of brick colours and textures to create a sense of variety without overcomplicating the design. The result is a vibrant, community-focused development that still feels grounded and accessible.

We also created two design options: one with a community centre as a central hub, and another with a small parkland area in its place. The community had an opportunity to have their say — giving residents the chance to shape their own space.

It’s a great reminder that thoughtful design doesn’t need to be complex — just considered, collaborative, and built with people in mind.
