Stan Zaslavsky

Hi, and welcome to November,

Although half the month has already passed, it’s been an absolute whirlwind so far! Straight after the Melbourne Cup, I completed the Melbourne Ironman 70.3 triathlon and finished 8th in my age group out of 73 competitors. The conditions were unlike anything I’ve ever experienced – 11 degrees to start with in the morning, high south-westerly winds, and rain throughout the day. It was so bad that the organisers cancelled the swim leg of the triathlon due to safety concerns.

And just like in business, there are often moments like this – when we need to persevere despite the circumstances and build some mental toughness. The theme of this felt vaguely similar to how it’s felt so far this year, lots of ups and downs as if we’re being battered by cross-winds and in and out of head and tail winds. So we persevere and continue to push where we can.

Over the last month, we completed several interesting projects, alongside our usual marketing and town planning visualisation projects. A new trend is emerging. Clients are seeking presentation projects that utilise AI technology – these have varied from private hospitals to commercial agents looking to reposition existing buildings for new uses. And last month, we delivered 5 or 6 videos like this. Below are a couple of examples.

The benefits are tremendous – a much quicker turnaround, more realistic people in lifestyle scenery, and better pricing than traditional flythroughs. Reach out if you’d like to see a demo of what we started with to create the videos above.

Feature Project – 118 Glass St, Essendon

The feature project this month is 118 Glass St, Essendon. We produced a set of marketing materials, including 3D exteriors, aerials, interior perspectives, and an interactive walkthrough, for this new development in North Essendon.

The key objective for the images was to showcase proximity to key amenities, security and spacious interiors, perfect for the downsizers who want to be within walking distance to the North Essendon village.

Finally, we created an interactive walkthrough of one of the penthouse apartments, which provides prospective buyers with an extremely detailed look at the project’s luxurious finishes and the promise of a future lifestyle.

Breaking Through the Fear of Cycling on the Road

Ever had one of those moments where excitement turns into a bit of a disaster—but somehow sets you on a life-changing path? That’s exactly how my journey toward completing an Ironman began.

It started in December 2022, when I walked into a bike shop ready to buy my first carbon road bike. I’d done the research, felt confident, and was already visualising the training rides ahead. What I didn’t expect was that my very first test ride would end up in the bushes, a cracked bike frame, and a $600 repair bill—all before I’d even made it out of the store properly.

But that day was more than just a humbling crash. It became a turning point. It reminded me how easily fear, hesitation, and outdated beliefs can prevent us from pursuing what truly matters. In my case, it was the dream of completing an Ironman before 50—a dream that had been quietly waiting in the background for years.

In this blog, I share how that single (and slightly embarrassing) fall set me on the road—literally—to chasing a lifelong goal.
