Stan Zaslavsky

Hi, and welcome to June,

Eagle Vision was founded on June 8, 2008. This year, we celebrate our 16th anniversary, and with that, we broke through the 700 projects mark—actually, we’re up to 703 already!

Despite the onset of winter, the development industry has shown remarkable resilience. May, in particular, has been a standout month, surpassing even the new project starts levels of February, which is always a strong month. We’ve witnessed a flurry of new project starts, ranging from visual impact evidence to several large-scale off-the-plan project marketing campaigns set to launch by early Spring.

The spiking inflation figures are still a concern for many of the developers I’ve spoken with, as they may affect the stabilisation of interest rates. Still, the overriding demand for more housing keeps everything afloat and bubbling. It feels like it’s just a matter of time for the construction figures to settle, and then real boom times may kick off, but at the same time, the media keeps telling us that we’re on the brink of a recession as the debt numbers are so high.

As the years have passed, I’ve decided that perhaps all this conflicting information is there to sell us fear and inaction, as the economic commentators have often got the forecasts wrong.

We just focus on our long-term strategy and ensure that every project we deliver is as good or better than our last – this principle has worked well for the last 16 years and let’s see what the next 16 brings!

Luke Noonan – Empowering People through Leadership and Connection

This month, on the Land Pioneers podcast, I had the absolute pleasure of interviewing Luke Noonan, who has become a good friend over the years.

I was particularly impressed with how Luke inspired and led large teams to achieve brilliant results across some of the industry giants, such as MAB, FKP, and Dennis Family Homes.

This and much more became the focus of our conversation – click here to check it out.

Feature Expert – Buying Land In South Australia – The How?

Learn the “how” of buying land in South Australia with James Polacek, a 20-year real estate veteran. In this third episode, James went into the specifics of the negotiations with land owners, how the government is releasing land for future projects, and much more.

Feature Project – Nicholson Street, Fitzroy North

The project brief for this six-storey residential building going in for an appeal at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) was to create a set of visual impact evidence photomontages to support the application at the hearing.

Port Macquarie Ironman 70.3 – A Journey of Tests and Triumphs

As promised last month, I finally got around to writing about the experience of my second ever Ironman 70.3 triathlon – this time in picturesque Port Macquarie. Only it was raining the whole week ahead and with the promise of wet roads, I wasn’t so excited about the bike leg of it.

Read more about my experience in the blog post here.

So that about wraps up the monthly thoughts for the month – as always, I look forward to your comments and questions and may you keep toasty and warm over the coming winter!

Have a great day,

Stan Zaslavsky.
